NAEPC
FLYERS AND BROCHURES
The Native American Environmental Protection Coalition (NAEPC) is a tribally driven organization that is dedicated to providing technical assistance, environmental education, professional training, information networking, and inter-tribal coordination. The organization’s goal is to become a recognized leader for environmental stewardship through creating and promoting resilient partnerships while embracing tribal culture and traditions for present and future generations. These flyers and brochure designs for NAEPC were created to raise awareness about different programs to tribal community members in a way that is both informative and visually engaging.
EARTH DAY PLANNING GUIDE 2020 & 2021
As can be seen in the Earth Day Planning Guide as well as the flyers below it, these designs all utilize different elements of traditional Native American design and craftsmanship in order to achieve an aesthetic that links the organization to this vast cultural tradition in a way that is respectful, tasteful, and avoids stereotyping. Aesthetic choices such as the use of triangular shapes, traditional woven basket caps, and earthy colors refer to similar motifs that exist in Native American basketry, textiles, and other cultural productions. These projects incorporate traditional illustrations that have been converted and manipulated through Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to give them a hand-crafted quality that remains true to their tribal influences.
